The Skeleton
The Skeleton, a 120 year old masterpiece, originally came from the Emperor Wilhelm II era, has been restored and has given a new appeal by Döttling, the German-based luxury safe maker, also known for restoring historical safes. It is their The latest restoration project which is a rare example of Prussian forged art from this time period. They have added it with hi-tech features to make it a one-off piece for one of its wealthy US clients. The project costs over $300k and it is for a watch collector who wanted to show off his luxury watches in style rather than stashing them away in a closed vault. It now comes with a double-walled Silatec bulletproof glass (25 mm thick) replacing the steel components of the doors to display his precious watches. There are also engravings that cover the 14 high-gloss chrome-plated locking bolts. Its interior finish consists of the finest grained poplar and 15 watch-winders. The unit has is hand-polished using a grand piano lacquer with cognac-colored goat suede.
