Ocean Empire LSV

You’d never think that superyacht owners care about the environment but you’d be wrong. Some of them do think about Mother Earth, like Richard Sauter of Sauter Zero Carbon Design and his latest concept. The Ocean Empire LSV (Life Support Vessel) is as environmentally-friendly as they come. Primarily powered by a Daimler BlueTec engine, the yacht does harvest other forms of energy. That includes solar, wind and even wave power – derived from the damping system on modern buildings – to further lessen its impact on the environment. Fuel consumption is said to be cut up to half and the yacht’s onboard batteries can even give about 360 megawatt-hour of power back to the grid. $TBA.
