Indian Minister’s Gold Chair

This Indian Minister’s Gold Chair shows how Karnataka tourism and infrastructure minister G Janardhana Reddy is addicted to gold. He own’s a golden chair that’s worth half a million dollars where he offers obeisances to religious idols, also made of gold. Indian Ministers are obligued to declare their assets and liabilities every year. While the gold idols are not surprising; one wonders why Mr. Reddy feels the need to sit on a chair of gold himself. Aside from his golden chair, the assets he owns include several jewels including sapphires, diamonds, necklaces, pendants and rings, amounting to around $34 million. No word if the chair is for sale, but it doesn’t sound comfortable – or moral for that matter.
