Motorola couldn’t have picked a better time to unveil to the viewing world their latest luxury gizmo. While the rest of the world’s spinning with their Apple iPads, the Motorola Xoom gets some face time with Oscar himself. Instead of the usual paper and envelope readout for the Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor/Actress presentation, a gold-plated Motorola Xoom inside an envelope will be read. That’s right, the Xoom will be front and center at the Academy Awards. No word though when and where the gold-plated tablets will be available. $600+.
