Girard-Perregaux WW.TC John Harrison Watch

Girard Perregaux has unveiled its limited series of watches, called “ww.tc,” to pay homage to legendary watchmaker John Harrison. John Harrison is best known for his H4, a timepiece that could be used for calculating the longitude on any part of the earth’s surface. Limited to just 50 pieces, the watch’s dial has various locations displayed on it. The watch is patterned after the watch that John Harrison’s son, William, took on his Atlantic voyage. Its dial has been enameled from the specially created champlevé enamel, while the map on the dial is made from unprocessed white gold while the compass rose displaying eight directions of the wind is hand-crafted by an artist. To finish the surfacing of the watch, they put diamond filing to give it a glitter and then laced it with silver powder, marking William Harrison’s journey from Europe to America.
