David Geffen’s Rising Sun Yacht

David Geffen’s Rising Sun Yacht is the world’s sixth largest yacht, recently purchased by David Geffen from co-owner Larry Ellison, making him the sole owner of this superyacht. This yacht was launched six years ago by the German Lurssen shipyard. This 456 ft. vessel was deisgned by Jon Bannenberg and is bigger than the boats from fellow billionaires like Paul Allen’s Octopus. The Rising Sun has over 8,000 sq. meters of living space with 82 rooms across five decks. It features Onyx countertops, a gym, spa, sauna, wine cellar, private cinema and a basketball court that can be converted into a helipad when needed. All in all, it costs about $250 million, making it something only a few can buy. This mega yacht is powered by four MTU 20V 8000 M90 diesel engines with a combined output of 50,000 hp.
