Ark Angel

Mega and superyachts aren’t exactly the most fuel-efficient ways to travel because they use massive amounts of energy for so few people. Sauter Carbon Offset Design challenges that notion with the Ark Angel LSV 78, a 78-meter yacht that looks mean but actually runs green. At the heart of the superyacht is a 1,600-kW Daimler Bluetec Turbo Compound DD16 diesel/electric engine. This is a fuel-efficient and clean diesel engine that reduces the yacht’s overall greenhouse gas emissions. There are several other power generating features aboard, like a 100-kW solar cell exoskeleton, 100-kW Motion Damping Regeneration and a SkySail that produces up to 400-kW when power sailing. All these eco-drives mean you can sail for up to 5,000 nautical miles at 28-knots guilt-free because you’re carbon-neutral. $TBD.
